How to use an anagram solver in word games
Scrabble and Words With Friends. Type the seven tiles on your rack. The solver returns every legal word, longest first, so you can weigh a big play against keeping a balanced rack. Add a letter already on the board to find words that hook onto an existing tile.
Cryptic crosswords. Anagram clues are flagged by indicator words such as “confused”, “scrambled”, “broken” or “out”. Enter the fodder letters, then filter the results by the letter count of the answer slot.
Daily word puzzles. For games that ask you to build as many words as possible from a set of letters, work through the shorter groups to bank easy points, then hunt for the pangram in the longest group.
Tap any result to read its definition and hear it pronounced — a quick way to turn a lucky find into a word you actually remember. Need length filters, saved word lists or read-aloud results? Use the full word unscrambler.
Anagram solver FAQ
- How does this anagram solver work?
- Type the letters you have — up to 40 — and the solver checks them against a large English dictionary, returning every word that can be built from those letters. Results are grouped by word length so the highest-scoring plays sit at the top.
- Can I use it for Scrabble and Words With Friends?
- Yes. Enter your rack letters and the solver lists every playable word. Longer words usually score more, so scan the longest groups first, then work down when the board is tight.
- Does it help with crossword clues?
- It does when the clue is an anagram — cryptic crosswords often signal one with words like 'confused', 'mixed' or 'broken'. Feed in the fodder letters and compare the results against the pattern of the grid.
- Are partial anagrams included?
- Yes. Shorter words that use only some of your letters are returned too, which is useful when you need a small word to fit an open square.
